Welcome to my practice.
I am a licensed clinical social worker in Washington, DC and Virginia specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, adjustment disorders, and relationship problems. I have experience working with a diverse client population in college counseling and in Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization levels of care.
My approach is warm, direct, and client-driven. I believe that no two people are the same and therefore individualize my approach based on the needs of each client. I incorporate aspects of cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and mindfulness-based methods to help my clients gain insight into their problems and learn the tools, skills, and strategies necessary to cope. Making change is hard, but I believe that we all have the power within ourselves to do so. I will help you set realistic and attainable goals so you can move your life in a positive direction.
Experience
I completed my training at The Renfrew Center of Bethesda and served as the Eating Disorder Specialist at Georgetown University’s counseling center for three years. Throughout my tenure at Georgetown, I was invited to serve as a guest lecturer as part of Georgetown’s Engelhard Fellowship, speaking to students about the different cultural manifestations of eating disorders and the relationship between eating disorders and religion. I have also spoken at a number of symposiums for college mental health providers to share my expertise in treating eating disorders on a college campus. I am proud of my extensive experience lobbying with the Eating Disorders Coalition, advocating for equal access to treatment for clients with eating disorders.
